Jarom Rush - Motivational Leadership Expert

Jarom is a natural born leader and warrior at heart.  Loyal husband and father of 4, he thrives on action, fun and connection with those he loves.  Those who know him describe him as charismatic, inspiring and filled with an irrepressible passion.

Jarom has been in the world of public speaking, training, and mentoring for 8 years.  During that time he has participated in a multitude of personal development events including anything and everything from small classes and in-home presentations to large community events and multi-day seminars.  Within these he has served as the teacher, team lead, and event facilitator. In addition to working with groups, Jarom also mentors individuals one-on-one, working to empower them with skills and tools to help them to improve themselves, their lives and the lives of their families.

Jarom was introduced to foam sword fighting in 2012.  In 2014, armed with a desire to provide his kids with an opportunity to be involved, he formed a family-friendly sword fighting group called Battleguard that meets one night a week at the local park.  Unlike other sword fighting groups, this group allows kids to participate and emphasizes the building and keeping of morals. Now after 5 years and with absolutely no advertising other than word of mouth and invitations to passersby, the group has grown to an average attendance of 50-60 per week.  People are naturally drawn by the prospects of fun and continue to come back week after week, year after year when they discover they have joined a community that not only provides them a consistent and massively engaging activity, but also gives them a sense of acceptance, camaraderie, and belonging.

In addition to his own sword fighting group, Jarom is involved in a non-profit program called Heroic Youth.  This program offers a 3 day event for youth ages 8-19 that teaches principles and values and seeks to motivate the youth to live by them.  Youth who have graduated from the program, as well as parents and other community members are encouraged to volunteer. Youth leadership is particularly emphasized, where those who have been through the program themselves are selected for positions where they are leading the individual groups of younger kids and teaching these upcoming youth the things they have learned throughout their years of involvement.  These youth leaders also participate in additional opportunities, such as the Everyday Warrior Project, which encourages them to set and pursue goals and dreams, as well as leadership training and social events, all of which are geared towards the overall mission of the program as well as a yearly theme. Jarom has been involved with the Heroic Youth program for 6 years, including 2 years on the committee and 2 years on the board.  He is also one of the main adult facilitators for the multi-day event.

The grand culmination of these experiences and involvements is an individual with high levels of experience training business teams, families and individuals.  Through sword fighting games and skills he teaches principles such as:

  • Unity
  • Patience
  • Teamwork
  • Trust
  • Relationship building
  • Living with Vision

Using his training he motivates others to implement values that will help strengthen individuals and groups alike.
